Color Splash

David Bromstad. He is pretty awesome. I was a bit disapointed to find out he was not straight, but I guess I should have known..  He is one of my favorite designers. And I've loved watching his latest shows as they all seem to be based in Miami and I love seeing familiar places or of what seems to be anyway.
Bromstad says he “blends styles that incorporate realism and fantasy.”  and I totally buy it. Don't you?

anyway, I want to hang out with him and then have him re-do my entire house.

You should see how these spaces looked before the makeover. O my.

o yes, he's also a painter =)

Better After

A few postings from my favorite blog, betterafter.
It takes so much talent, creativity, and dedication to take something old and forgotten and turn it into something that turns heads.
Anyone can buy something nice.
But to make something this nice? Now that gets all my attention.

Giving opportunities to...trash.

Didn't think little friendly bears could be made into something so freaky:

Applaud.
I am told that Jute used to be so popular that people put it on everything and everything. I think it is coming back, and I like it

This pops.Went from old fashioned goodwill style, to a modern piece. All with probably $10.

Look 4 Less !

Why pay more, when you can pay less =)

This mirror from Jonathan Adler costs $1,750
Jonathan Adler Jere Rain Drops Mirros
  That is just crazy.

Well, a similar one can be found at Urban Outfitrers for just $98.00!

Another very cool, "airy" item is this coffee table. I have seen the clear chairs around here and there, but I haven't seen many of the tables around...

This one by Plexi-Craft is a whooping $1,177.00

BUT. It can also be fouind here, for only $84.95 with cheap if not free s&h !

Go find It!

I came across a random find at a local store, and perhaps it is because of the blue and white colors that matched my bedroom, but I ended up bringing it home. And I'm glad I did.
From just first few pages, I was already enlightened and inspired:

"Living a full life is actually experiencing the entire range of emotions we have.
Life doesn't just happen when you're feeling fine.
Life is happening all the time - and it's impossible to really feel the good withough the contrast of the hard and painful.
It is important to love yourself  completely, to not just accept but be grateful for everything in your life, the good and the bad.
Being able to understand challenges as experiences in one long adventure will change your whole attitude.
It will extract the positive from the negative and to appreciate all that you do have in your world."

On another positive note, here is a wonderful photographer who I used to work with. She has now quit the company to continue pursuing her passions in life and do what she loves.

Tammy Kravitz everyone!

Weddings Around The World...in PDX

Weddings around the world showcase. So much amazing talent at one place. Of course the Russian showcase room was the best, and I'm not just tooting the horn. :)

Winter wonderland. Perfect combination for a winter wedding.

so elegant. I'm not sure if I would use feathers unless I want to dust while I'm at it..jk. It is beautiful.

vintage collection. I could see this in my house

These are the most beautiful plates and arrangement I have ever seen. ever.  That little teacup and picture frame? Have you seen something that?? I personally can't stop looking at it. Magnificent.

who knew that putting a bunch of carnations together in a ball can look so elegant and classy

modern yet flashy. maybe it's all the diamonds that catch my attention..

it's the little accessories and punches of color that really matter

I used to love daisy's. they were my favorite flowers. they remind me of summer, playfulness, innocence, simple yet colorful
